INTERNET CHURCH

At GRACE Church in Martins Ferry, Ohio we recently began an Internet Church. Initially we started broadcasting to our satelite church in Columbus and from there, with new software, we were able to broadcast live providing a live video feed out over the Internet. Our response has been great. We are continually trying to update and improve the quality.
The Apostle Paul used new technology, the letter and letter carrier, to get his message of Jesus Christ out to others. SInce the days of Paul, new technology and innovations have come along, enabling the power of the Gospel to reach people in so many new and exciting ways. I think the Internet is a great vehicle to reach the unchurched, as well as support and encourage those who are homebound. For us, the Internet Church is working. However, we want to grow it and be able to do more with it. Is anyone else doing this?

Thanks - most of the churches we are using as models for our internet church are either Methodist (Ginghamsburg U.M. in Tipp City, OH) or non-denominational. As Presbyterians, perhaps we got out of the gate a little late on this new ministry apporach. Thanks for you help - I'll look them up.

Thanks for sharing your experience William. Glad it is working well. Northminster Presbyterian in Indianapolis broadcasts audio only over the internet at 9 and 11 Sunday mornings, www.northminster-indy.org. Have you thought about starting a church on Second Life?

I do not know about second life - I'll google it. If you have info, I'd be glad to learn more about it, especially if it can enable us to better our Internet Church.
