One thing I have added to my life that has been a great help to my spiritual journey is a weekly Bible study with a couple of other women clergy. The study is not for sermon prep, but for personal devotion. We are reading through Ephesians right now, plus spending time in sharing prayer joys and concerns and praying for one another.

Well, I've been saved for about a year now. In that time I have

- Shared the Gospel with all my family members and friends.
- Became an official member of my church having converted from being a Catholic.
- I've joined the Evangelism Committee, Grounds Committee and Nominating Committee
- I have established a web site for our church. I already knew html but since I have started the site I have learned php as well and JavaScript is next. (buckleypresbyterian.org)
- I've also been playing with my own site MyFathersWork.com
- I've been listening to Way of the Master Radio which focuses on evangelism, Bible tracts and open air preaching.
- And I frequently discuss faith online in forums similar to this one

Oh and I joined this site of course. I'll have to show it to my Elder.

One of the ideas that came out of our church's transformation work was doing dessert Bible studies in homes. Having to lead this for adults was a wonderfully stretching exercise for me. Since then, I participated in General Assembly, and have been sharing how awesome an experience that was; you might say I saw how inspiring the wider church can be. I've been trying to recruit some folks to attend the Big Tent event next June, down in Atlanta, because I'm convinced that these sorts of events can deepen our faith and connection to other Christians. I think one of the most important thing I've done to grow my faith was pretty simple. In a conversation with our general presbyter, who posed the question to me about how often I read the Bible, I had to admit to only sporadic reading. She pointed out that if we only ate once a "week", we'd be pretty "weak". I now aim to read my Bible every morning, using the lectio divina method, and journaling verses that touch my heart. I guess you could say that I realized how much I need spiritual food.
